East of England Sailplanes was established in the early 1990s by Richard Kilham – a highly
experienced glider pilot, former gliding instructor and senior BGA inspector. An expert
in paintwork, he specialised initially in wood and fabric refurbishments – later turning
his talents to glass and carbon fibre work.
Expansion of the business into powered aircraft, microlights and rotax engine servicing
has resulted in its recent relocation to Husbands Bosworth – an important centre for sport
aviation. Here customers benefit from an individual service offered by the East Of England
Sailplanes skilled team, working in bespoke facilities from a UK central location to ensure
that their aircraft receive the very best maintenance.
With the advent of EASA, East Of England Sailplanes has ensured it is fully equipped to provide compliant
maintenance for the growing needs of the general aviation industry and looks forward to
meeting those challenges.
